It’s OK, Torres

The swords are out for those who want Torres out of the BPL. Why are the swords out? They are out because they fear you, Torres. They know what you can do. You did give us a glimpse of what you are capable of  in the MU game. In fact you DID score a goal. It is as if you did not contribute at all. You scored the goal and you created the second one but unfortunately you didn’t score. I doubt if any ordinary player would have even had your second chance!

Look at it this way, you rounded the keeper, your first touch was superb but the only thing was you missed the shot. So don’t feel bad, Fernando. Better luck next time! All the Chelsea fan in the world is waiting for your next great moment.

Malaysia vs. Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea

Well… I guess Malaysian were a very happy lot this past week or so when we had the ‘so called’ 3 out of the top four teams. Why so called…well we can throw in Manchester City and Tottenham in the fray and make it the ‘top 6′. Pushing that aside, Malaysia benefited a lot from the visit, playing against world class sides and showing them that we are no pushover though if you look at our ranking, you’d probably be laughing to your hearts content!

Going into details, the Arsenal game. This is the way to beat the Malaysian team. Free flow of short passes in small triangles. Perhaps the only team that is able to this better than Arsenal would be Barca. They can make the opposing team be mesmerized and watch the ‘pinball’ move just like any spectator in the stands and once the opponents are hipnotized then Barca will go for the kill. The only thing that Arsenal need for the coming EPL season, will be cooler heads in front of the pitch.

For the Liverpool match, they played a more open game which was to Malaysia’s liking. Because it was an open game, they had to rely highly on their technical abilities and skills. When this happens, more space is given and the nervous Malaysian players had more time to think about where they should pass the ball. So as time passes, the Malaysian players grew in confidence seeing that they could actually push the ball high up the pitch. The defence is where Liverpool should work on since there were a few instances where the defenders lost concentration allowing the space and time needed for the Malaysian players to ‘play’ football.  Hence, the ability of the Malaysian to get themselves on the scoresheet. On the other end of the pitch, Ngog looked sharp and Aqulani was calling the shots from midfield often wrongfooting the Malaysians. If the Reds are considering selling them, please don’t because if they are not 1st team players then they are able replacements for the 1st team players providing good backup for the long long season ahead.

The Chelsea game, Chelsea simply didn’t play as a unit! The truth of the matter, if goaline technology was used, then they wouldn’t have won at all! Perhaps this is due to having a new coach and it is very early in the season for them to gel. Boas mentioned that they will be an attacking side. My question is “what attacking side?” Liverpool could, score 6, Arsenal 4, and Chelsea? If the assistant referee didn’t score for them, it would have been goaless.

Well, all in all it augurs well for the Malaysian National teams; the games will boost their confidence for their next mission and perhaps instill fear amongst the Southeast Asian teams if not the more illustrious Asian big boys.

How?

How is it that the sun

doesn’t shine on me

for all its glory

the shade is on me

How  do you smile

so sincerely

for my smile

is made up

How can you

lie to all those

people without guilt

for guilt haunts me

How can you

have a different life

for life is never

forgiving

Himpunan 1belia

Kulihat ramai muda-mudi di sana,

berhimpit-himpit menjengok

Acara-acara

pemikat remaja

Bunyi laungan memanggil

dentam bunyi dram

helaan nafas panjang

bunyi bayi menangis

hari makin terik

tekak semakin haus

kelompok masih ramai

menjamu mata dan selera

Jauh berjalan

tiada tempat parkir

tiada sunyi

tanda berjaya

Torres and Chelsea

Well, I think the pundits are jumping the gun by saying that Torres is a bad investment. The truth of the matter is anybody deserves a chance. And just like any worker who changes job and has to get the hang of thing at the new office; Torres should be allowed to do the same. If we changed office, we just have to get along with a few friends and we will survive. Imagine Torres having to get to know 11 new friends!

Yes, we have seen a few Suarezs who can just walk in and adapt as if he has been at Liverpool forever but look at players like Van der Vaat who excel in the beginning  and has shown a decline now.

Torres is young and he has a few good years still in him, give him ample time and the praises will heap on him soon

Maybe it is time for a new north-south highway

Every time when the holiday season comes, there will be massive traffic jams on the highway. Apparently, there is only one highway connecting from the north, Perlis and south, Johore. Not forgetting the states in between. Imagine, cars lining up and entering the highway from the middle, end and beginning of the highway and contributing to the existing cars already there and tada…. you have a traffic jam!

Perhaps it is time for a new highway! It can be a political manifesto for any political party since the general elections it just around the corner. The only hitch is that, make sure the agreement is transparent and benefits the people!

Kembalikan imanmu

Kembalikan imanmu

ianya dikikis

kegembiraan sementara

senyuman kontrak

Kembalikan imanmu

semakin terhakis

oleh pepijat dusta

menyedut jiwa

Kembalikan imanmu

hanya itu yang mustajab

mengubati jiwa

sekosong hampagas

Kembalikan imanmu

agar kau bersemadi

bersamanya tidak

mungkin terpisah

Puncak

Di puncak ini

kumenapak menyusun langkah

melangkaui dedaunan kering

yang telah mencium bumi

Di puncak ini

kutergelincir lalu menjerit

tiada siapa menyahut

kerana ku tidak yakin

Di puncak ini ku mencari

dan terus mencari

kebahagiaan hakiki

aduh…ku tergelincir lagi

ku memaut dahan

dahan demi dahan

untuk bergantung

dahan kering menyambut

Ku tiba

pada puncak

tidak ia jauh

ianya di hati

Hollywood and the name “Sam”

This is an open letter to those involved in movie making in Hollywood. Why is it that most stories will have a character named ‘Sam” in it. Be it boy or girl. A boy can be Sam and a girl perhaps Samantha. Does it have any relations with “Uncle Sam.” The other question is why all phone numbers begin with 555? It will be interesting to know.

Beautiful? At what price?

Have you noticed that when you come out of a junction, and the first thing you see are the shrubs on the road dividers! What are they there for? To beautify the place or to actually make you ‘blind’ when you enter the other road? Hence the danger of having the shrubs. Why have it in the first place? You will only see the oncoming car when you are already on the road! Hmm… just something to ponder about.

Some people go at great length to be beautiful. What is beautiful to them?  To be a clothes hanger like the models. To have a blowfish like lips so that they can kiss a hippo and not be ashamed. Hey our lips are the same in thickness perhaps they can hang clothes on our lips to dry.. To achieve this, some people starve themselves to death (literally) to achieve this. Others will borrow money to go to expensive slimming centers just to be advised to diet and exercise. I can tel you that! Now why don’t you pay me the thousands that you are paying them. Just something to ponder about.

Oops.. there are problems here

Every time when the holiday season comes, there will be a lot of fatalities. Most countries could blame it on alcohol, but not in our lovable Malaysia. We can actually blame it on ourselves. The refusal to wear seatbelts, the ‘handicapped’ who God knows why..are not able to fasten their helmets properly, the overcaring parents who feel the need to put their babies in front with them and the ‘minibus’ cars (the more the merrier…so they say)…we can do acrobatics on the road by fitting 12 people into the enormous-sized Kancils!

Sorry… filling up people’s sick mind with gory pictures of accidents won’t help. Look at our cigarrette campaign! People are having a rat race on who could become those in the pictures faster. The faster the better.

The only way for people to change is to change their attitude. Their attitude towards their loved ones, towards themselves and towards their country. Thank God for the road cleaners.. or else Malaysian roads will be full of our delicious fruit skins!

Exposure for the backup shuttlers

It is time for Malaysia to stop relying on old worn out old horses. Though they wish to succeed, their energy won’t take them anywhere. When was the last time Hafiz won anything? Do not talk about our backup shuttlers in their 20s what backup..when they are 24 years old already.

The young guns should be exposed and when I say young guns, I mean shuttlers who are yet to reach their 20s. That is what you call backup shuttlers!
